Home Is Where The Heart Is! Alexandra Park Phase1B Townhome Staging
Background
Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) in partnership with Tridel has built new townhomes to replace older housing located in the Queen West neighbourhood of Alexandra Park. Atkinson Co-Op residents were temporarily relocated to other TCHC housing as part of the ‘zero displacement’ mandate of this project.
Winter 2019
TCHC decided to stage a 4-bedroom townhome in Phase 1B, so that the residents could envision their new home. All furniture was provided by Tridel. Dolores Pian won the opportunity to stage this townhome. She worked with Tridel’s interior designer, Sarah, to review the existing old stock of furniture from previous model suite staging projects. Many of the Deltera / Tridel’s SQ2 workmen helped Dolores with the installation of this project.
In January, Atkinson Co-Op’s relocated and current residents along with other guests from municipal, provincial, federal ministries were guided through the staged townhomes.
Afterwards
The staging was dismantled and the Tridel furniture was donated to the Alexandra Park Community Centre and Habitat For Humanity. Making many deserving people happy.
This project was considered a huge success. All participants were proud of a job well done.
